'Non-Markovian stochastic dynamics for open quantum systems
Lead Research Organisation:
University College London
Department Name: Physics and Astronomy
Abstract
The project will develop the idea that stochastic evolution of the density matrix is a meaningful concept in quantum mechanics and that the consequent non-Markovian behaviour of a system in the vicinity of attractors under external disturbance might resolve some questions concerning the measurement problem. Furthermore, non-Markovian entropy production will be computed for a simple Hamiltonian system undergoing an irreversible process.
