Engineering biofunctional 1,10-phenanthroline ligands for low-spin d6 luminophores: towards targeted bioimaging

Lead Research Organisation: CARDIFF UNIVERSITY
Department Name: Chemistry

Abstract

The project will focus upon the synthesis and characterisation of new molecular probes that are designed for application in optical imaging experiments. In particular the project will investigate synthetic strategies for new functionalised probes that demonstrate specific targeting ability in a biological context. This will encompass both organic and organometallic based molecular probes that benefit from tuneable photophysical attributes that can be advantageous in a biological context
