The Impact of Online Information on Individual Decision-making and Well-being
Lead Research Organisation:

Department Name: WMG
Abstract
The increase in the consumption of online social communications has fundamentally changed how we make both economic and social decisions. This has the potential to either help or harm an individual's sense of subjective well-being and/or mental health through the choices that one makes. The project seeks to first identify the characteristics of the information itself. Subsequently, experimental data will be collected (as well as observational data from online sources if required) in order to understand the impact of online information to the individual. This PhD fits in most closely with the "human-computer interaction" EPSRC research area.
