Scaling limits for random processes

Lead Research Organisation: University of Cambridge
Department Name: Pure Maths and Mathematical Statistics

Abstract

The research project will address rigorously large-particle-number scaling limits for continuum interacting particle systems. This will include coalescing systems. The objective is to derive the limit equations from the microscopic dynamics. This will draw on the theory of Markov processes and martingale estimates. Connections to Boltzmann equations and to dynamics of spatially inhomogeneous populations may be explored.
