Understanding the role of frazil ice production in polynyas

Abstract
I will look at frazil ice formation in polynyas, aiming to better understand the ice formation process and the impact it has on local and global ocean convection. To do this I will derive a model for frazil ice formation and couple this to models for ocean circulation.
