Detecting off-target radiotherapeutic cardiac injury using nuclear molecular imaging.

Lead Research Organisation: King's College London
Department Name: Immunology Infection and Inflam Diseases

Abstract

This project fits within a programme of work aiming to harness our library of novel radiotracers and nuclear imaging approaches to detect evolving cardiotoxicity. The radiotracer development program is mature and will provide Jenasee with the radiotracers that she needs, but this is our first project with cardiac injury caused by radiation. There are parallel projects in the group looking at anthracycline cardiotoxicity and cardiac hypertrophy which will run parallel with this project and provide support and strength in depth, but Jenasee's project is standalone in its aims and ambitions.
