Effector interaction and evolution in wheat pathogen Zymoseptoria tritici
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Oxford
Department Name: Interdisciplinary Bioscience DTP
Abstract
Septoria tritici blotch, caused by the fungus Zymoseptoria tritici, is one of the most devastating wheat diseases worldwide. In this project we will explore the molecular interactions at the fungal-host interface use AI-driven protein complex predictions and biochemical methods. We will then deploy genomic analysis to address the evolution history of the fungal genes.
