Understanding the impact of sex differences on immune responses
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Oxford
Department Name: Interdisciplinary Bioscience DTP
Abstract
Sex differences have shown to impact immune responses. A potential avenue for this difference could be in X chromosome inactivation, which results in either maternal X chromosome expression or paternal X chromosome expression. This causes a chromosomal mosaicism in women, possibly causing differences in immune response. This project will analyze RNAseq data to test this Hypothesis.
