Abstract
Another project that she find extremely interesting is 'Promoting well-being
through stimulation of the hair follicle'. The hair follicle has perhaps been underexplored as a regenerative
organ - it has been shown to be involved in angiogenesis, wound healing, and even neurogenesis,
highlighting its far-reaching power beyond regulation of the skin microenvironment. I am eager to
investigate this area further to determine how the hair follicle may be exploited to manipulate
neurotransmitter levels in the brain. What also attracted me to this programme was the partnership
between academia and industry - She is particularly eager to gain some industry experience in order to learn
more about how developed products/technologies are translated from bench to society.
