Single cell mass spectrometry
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Surrey
Department Name: Chemistry
Abstract
This research project aims to improve the robustness of single cell sampling and subsequent mass spectrometry analysis to determine cellular penetration of drug molecules and their effect on cellular biology. This will extend the application of the Live Single Cell Mass Spectrometry technology currently used at GSK and the University of Surrey to demonstrate drug is within target cells (drug at target) to characterising on and off-target effects. The main focus of the project will be on improving robustness of all aspects of the analytical processes, including the use of machine learning for selecting cells based on response and morphological changes.
