Abstract
This project will study mathematical modelling of biological problems that involve the flow of fluids. It is known that cells contain a complex viscous fluid (cytosol) and under certain condition this fluid is being put in motion by active biological processes, including the motion of organelles. During the research, mathematical modelling will be used to predict and understand the dynamics of the intra-cellular flows observed in real life. The project will develop mathematical and computational models in order to develop an understanding of the biophysics and the biological fluid dynamics of cytosol.
