Abstract
Dementia is incurable and degenerative, medication helps to slow the process down, but more is needed from non-pharmacological intervention to help promote a healthy sense of wellbeing. As is further discussed below, persons living with dementia are highly susceptible to a diminishment of personhood, identity, and autonomy. This study therefore aims to add to the methods of promoting wellbeing in persons with dementia, via a multidisciplinary approach to dementia care using Virtual Reality technology and heritage.
