Abstract
This research project has two aims:
1) To examine the barriers and opportunities of a decentralised cultivated meat production system in the UK.
2) To conduct a feasibility study of on-farm cultivated meat production in the UK, focusing on techno-economic challenges, input requirements, circularity (including waste valorisation), value chains, and engagement of stakeholder(s) in bioprocess design.
These joint aims have a broader objective to support a just transition to cellular agriculture in the UK, to enable the technology to provide public goods beyond the environmental sustainability of food.
