Crystallography of disorder in mixed-anion materials

Crystalline materials play a key role in modern technologies, from battery components to pharmaceuticals. Increasingly, however, materials scientists are discovering that atomic disorder and correlations occurring over short length scales have a significant influence on the overall physical properties. This project aims to develop new tools to analyse these interactions using single crystal X-ray diffraction in order to improve our understanding of real materials.
