Novel organic semiconductors as downconverters for photonic applications

Abstract
This project will involve the synthesis of new organic materials with targeted absorption and emission properties. The materials will be applied in devices such as lasers, LEDs and in visible light communications. Alongside synthesis, the materials will be studied for their thermal, photophysical, and redox properties and thin film processing techniques will be investigated.
