Connecting soils and streams: understanding the impact of peatland restoration on catchment scale biogeochemistry
Lead Research Organisation:

Department Name: Sch of Chemistry
Abstract
The water that drains from peat sites has a complex mixture of organic compounds within. Analysing and comparing these will provide insight into the carbon molecules lost from degraded bogs. Due to the complexity of organic matter in this soil, fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FT-ICR-MS) is required to analyse these samples.
