Replacing Aldehydes in Reductive Amination
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Edinburgh
Department Name: Sch of Chemistry
Abstract
This project will develop reductive amination directly from high oxidation-state carbonyl derivatives. The ability to perform reductive amination using high oxidation-state carbonyl coupling partners will introduce new chemical reactivity, open chemical space and greatly increase the operational simplicity of this transformation. Key to this advance is the in situ generation of an aldehyde equivalent and the engagement of this in the reductive amination reactions.
