Balancing human and biodiversity needs from agricultural landscapes
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Birmingham
Department Name: Sch of Geography, Earth & Env Sciences
Abstract
The project will investigate the relationship between function diversity and the complexity of agricultural landscapes. Areas which may be explored include which functional groups are most impacted by agriculture, whether communities in agricultural systems are less resilient and functionally homogenised than those in other systems, and the optimum design for agricultural landscapes to minimise declines in functional diversity and ecosystem services.
