Laser-Based Indoor Wireless Communication for Mobile Devices Aided by Stabiliser: Mobility and Outage Analysis has been accepted for presentation at

Lead Research Organisation: University of Edinburgh
Department Name: Sch of Engineering

Abstract

LiFi is a new wireless communication technology that is bidirectional, high-speed, and completely networked. In the downlink, visible light is used as the propagation medium, whereas infrared is used for communication in the uplink. LiFi has a number of crucial advantages, including a very broad, unrestricted bandwidth in the visible light spectrum, high energy efficiency, and high security. However, the challenge is that the quality of the optical channel in an indoor space, for both uplink and downlink, is significantly dependent on the device orientation and user mobility.
