Lead Research Organisation: University of Sheffield
Department Name: Education

Abstract

The WRDTP Wellbeing, Health and Communities Interdisciplinary Pathway
addresses the grand challenges for health and wellbeing in communities
with a commitment to addressing inequalities linked to marginality,
including disability. This project speaks to the grand challenges identified
by the pathway by focusing on the health and wellbeing concerns of
disabled carers that are currently under-represented in research, policy and
practise. This project will attend to the disabled people's experience of
intersectional forms of marginalisation in access to health and social care
to promote well being, including race, gender, (hetero)sexuality, poverty,
class and disability The project draws on multidisciplinary perspectives
from health, social care, social work, educational psychology, occupational
therapy, and physiotherapy.
