British Communism and Emotional Crisis: British Communists and Personal Investment in the Soviet Union

The project will offer an important new history of communism and the British left in Britain through the lens of the history of emotions and personal relationships.
The project will be organised, based around key moments of crisis in the Soviet Union, and the emotional impact of this on political activists, in terms of their politics, but also in terms of how this shaped their personal relationships and domestic lives.
