Micro-Transfer print of plasmonic/ photonic materials

Lead Research Organisation: Queen's University Belfast
Department Name: Sch of Mathematics and Physics

Abstract

The project explores the development of advanced plasmonic materials such as 2D material and the next-generation of micro-transfer printing (uTP) techniques. By leveraging unexplored techniques for uTP preparation, such as surface activation with plasma treatment, the research aims to design a novel transfer printing method that can be applied for the construction of plasmonics and 2D materials. The project utilize experimental studies with different characterisation tools such as AFM, Ellipsometer, Goniometer, STEM EDX, and SEM, to enhance the understanding of the material properties and device performance, paving the way for next-generation uTP method and plasmonic technologies.
