Lead Research Organisation: University of Leeds
Department Name: Sociology & Social Policy

Abstract

The project aims to strengthen perinatal mental health theories, systems, policies and outcomes for racially oppressed women by identifying and evaluating interventions to support inclusive practice and capacity-building.

The three objectives of the project are;

1. To identify how to include women from racially minoritised groups backgrounds in health systems system decision making that addresses their needs and priorities.

2. To identify and implement scalable and sustainable interventions to support perinatal mental health system development.

3. To evaluate the impact of service changes on the mental health and well-being of service users from racially minoritised and the wider perinatal mental health system.
