Abstract
The objective of the research is to perform a new neutrino oscillation measurement in T2K with the goal of measuring the relevant neutrino oscillation parameters, including the CP violating phase, using data from the T2K experiment, but also including external inputs from other experiments, such as reactor neutrino measurements, atmospheric neutrino measurements in Super-Kamiokande and neutrino oscillation measurements from the NOvA experiment. The novelty of the measurement is that it will be the most comprehensive survey of neutrino oscillation parameters, using all the available data from neutrino oscillation experiments currently in operation. The methods to be used include the use of a Markov Chain Monte Carlo fitter to include all the available data, and validation of the parameters using other statistical tools. The research will also include experimental work to validate the Outer Detector electronics to be used for the Hyper-Kamiokande experiment and the expected impact for Hyper-Kamiokande to improve the measurement of neutrino oscillation parameters.
