Direct Dark Matter searches in Effective Field Theory framework and Neutron Background suppression in LZ experiment
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Liverpool
Department Name: Physics
Abstract
Focus of this PhD project will be to analyse the full data set collected with the LZ Dark
Matter search detector. To achieve the best sensitivity to Dark Matter particles the neutron
background should be well understood, and suppression criteria implemented in the data analysis.
The student will contribute to the core LZ analysis on WIMP search and also develop interpretation of
the results in the Effective Field Theory and Simplified Models frameworks.
