Graphene-based integrated photonics

Lead Research Organisation: University of Cambridge
Department Name: Engineering

Abstract

This project aims at the design, fabrication, and characterization of layered materials-based integrated photonic devices. The devices will be monolithically integrated with commonly used semiconductor technologies, with emphasis on silicon photonics platforms such as silicon-on-insulator and silicon nitride working at telecom and datacom wavelengths. The project will also explore the integration of graphene and layered materials in novel integrated photonics platforms with operational wavelength in the mid-infrared spectrum, such as suspended silicon and germanium-on-silicon.
