This chapter reflects upon the ways that different kinds of methodology produce particular kinds of research subject, and particular types of knowledge. It explores these issues with reference to a longitudinal and qualitative study of gambling, which analysed the narratives of gamblers and those in their social networks to generate ideas about the the social and spatial aspects of gambling behaviour.
