Abstract
This research proposal aims to quantify and compare factors affecting inequality in educational opportunity in Australia, providing a new framework from a complex field of literature, to focus policy-making. This will involve programming the novel application of the regression tool Extreme Bounds Analysis to large datasets to determine factors affecting educational inequality. The aim is to develop a quantified understanding of what is linked with inequality in educational outcomes in Australia, and identify root causes and best policy practice through comparative studies with the UK and other OECD nations using Most Similar Systems Design.
