Hadrons in thermal QCD

Abstract
Heavy-ion collision experiments at CERN probe the strong interaction at extremely high temperatures, resulting in a transition to a new state of matter, the quark-gluon plasma. What happens to hadrons under these conditions remains an open question, especially for baryons. In this project, we will use effective quark and potential models to study the fate of baryons consisting of one or more heavy quarks (charm or beauty quarks) and contrast the results with those obtained using first-principle simulations of lattice QCD.
