Photophysics of Emerging Materials for Photovoltaic and Lighting Applications
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Cambridge
Department Name: Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology
Abstract
The PhD work will focus on the use of time-resolved spectroscopy to study emerging semiconductor materials including perovskites and perovskite-inspired materials for applications including photovoltaics, lighting, lasing and quantum devices. A key focus will be on understanding the local recombination and charge transport properties of these materials employing time-resolved techniques on the microscale, including adapting recently developed techniques in the group utilising 3D luminescence and diffusion approaches. Such understanding will guide better material and device design, in turn pushing devices to higher performances.
