Description For the processes considered (linear friction welding and direct laser metal sintering), new numerical models were developed and validated against experimental data.
Exploitation Route Incorporation of the methods developed in this project into the design procedures used by companies such as Rolls-Royce. Validated numerical models used to optimise processing operations and thus to ensure best performance of engineering components and assemblies.
